Download AutoMate 2.0 install files and manual
AutoMate 2.0 runs on most Windows Mobile PDA and cell phones.
The following instructions describe how to download and install the app on your
Windows Mobile PDA.
You need two CAB files to install AutoMate 2.0 on your Windows Mobile PDA.
Clicking any of the links that follow will download a zip file to your computer
containing those
two files.
One of the CAB files is the AutoMate 2.0 app and the other one is a .Net
Compact Framework (NetCF) file.
The current version and build of AutoMate 2.0 is 3810.25902 You can find the
version and build information
of a running app by going to the About menu on the main screen.
Different versions of Windows Mobile require different versions of
NetCF.
Download the appropriate zip file for your PDA from the following list:

Pocket PC 2003
(also known as Windows Mobile 2003)
-
Windows Mobile 5.0
-
Some Windows CE
The third option is seldom the correct one, so try it only if neither of the
other
two work. If a NetCF version is incorrect for your PDA, it will fail to
install.
To install this app on your PDA, perform the following steps:

Copy the two cab files to any folder on your PDA. You can do this one of two
ways:

Copy the files to a SD card using an SD card reader and then putting the SD
card in the PDA

Install Microsoft ActiveSync on your PC and access the PDA through the File
Explorer. ActiveSync can be downloaded
here.
Since there is no official version of ActiveSync for Macs, Mac users are
advised to use the first method. Third party versions of ActiveSync for Macs
do exist, however.

Tap each CAB file in turn, in any order -- using the stylus on the PDA -- not by
clicking on the file in the PC's File Explorer.
Note that this will not only install the software but will also delete the CAB
file from the PDA, so keep a backup. This creates a folder
inside of /Program Files named TheGadgetWorks. Inside TheGadgetWorks, AutoMate
2.0 appears.
